David was born in Boise, Idaho. He graduated with honors from Berea Community High School in Berea, Kentucky in 1996 as a member of the National Honors Society and the National Beta Club. He has had some mathematics education from Berea College while enrolled in high school and has successfully completed training from the East Tennessee School of Preaching and Missions (now called, the Southeast Institute of Biblical Studies) in 2000.

He has spent a month in Rostov-on-Don, Russia during 1994. In 1997, David received management training from McDonald’s Corporation in Dayton, Ohio and was nominated Outstanding Contributor for his class. Also in 1997, he received his Eagle rank in the Boy Scouts of America.

Brother Paher has served the Central Church of Christ in Sweetwater, Tennessee while enrolled at ETSPM through the means of song leading, Bible class teaching and occasional preaching. He twice served as an intern with the Richmond Church of Christ in Richmond, Kentucky. He and his wife, Philena, worked with the Central church of Christ in Bedford, Virginia during 2001-2002. They served the Cedar Grove Church of Christ in Andalusia, Alabama from 2002 to 2011 and the Swart Creek Church of Christ in Swartz Creek, Michigan from 2011 until 2013.

After nearly 13 years of full-time preaching experience, David transitioned to missionary work among the Amerindian churches of Guyana, South America. His missionary work is Living Water 414, an active missions ministry under the oversight of the eldership of the Richmond Church of Christ, where he serves as Resident Missionary.

They have two living daughters, whom they adore, and two children, Baby Grace and David Elijah, who are in Heaven.
