Are You Courageous To Choose Your Path Today?
Joshua 24:14-15

Thesis: To show the importance of serving God today.

Introduction:
1. Everyone has problems.
2. Many struggles may be thwarted if we make wise choices today.

Discussion:
Let us consider that...

I. You must choose…
A. God is on your side (23:3-5, 9-10)
B. Align with God’s side (23:6-8, 11-13)

II. You must choose you this day...
A. Time is fleeting (23:1-2, 14a)
B. We know enough to follow God (23:14b)
C. Obedience turns away God’s wrath (23:15-16)

III. You must choose you this day whom you will serve...
A. Abraham left idolatry (24:1-5).
B. Moses led their fathers out of idolatrous Egypt (24:6-7).
C. They struggled with idolatry afterward (24:7b).
D. Joshua’s generation fought with the idolatrous Canaanites (24:8-13).
E. They now must choose their course (24:14-15).
1. They choose to serve God (24:16-18).
2. They put away foreign idols (24:19-23).
3. They make a covenant with God, and a stone is place for a memorial (24:24-28).

Conclusion:
1. God has done much for us (Jam. 1:17).
2. Our future is based upon decisions in the present.
3. God requires service.
4. God wants total commitment, not just a contribution.
